The Starkville duo of Shaw Nickels and Sterling Dahl finished strong to capture the 38th annual Philadelphia Country Club Four-Ball Tournament this past weekend.

The tournament concluded with a thunderstorm moving in.

Nickels-Dahl shot a 64 during the first round on Saturday and finished the second round with a 67 on Sunday.

"We birdied three of the last four holes which locked things for us," Nickels said. "We finished 13 under for the tournament. We were lucky to get it in with the weather."

The teams of Ryan Ratcliff and Warren Hood, and Butch Miller and Shane Bishop finished tied for second in the championship flight.

Several of the flights ended in a tie and had to be decided by a card playoffs.

Allen Johnson and Jeff Lee were the winners of the First Flight with a 134, followed by Blake Lewis and Steve Brown with a 136.

Will Taylor and Zach Taylor won a card playoff to take the Second Flight, as did Bob Roberts and Mitchell Smith in the Third Flight. Heath Stribling and Justin Webb won the Fourth Flight, and Thomas Tisdale and Kip Turner came in first in the Fifth Flight.
