The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors split a pair of games in the Clarkdale Spring Fling fast-pitch softball tournament at Northeast Park in Meridian.

The Lady Warriors opened with a 7-2 loss to Corinth, and then bounced back to beat Amory 11-1.

The Lady Warriors entered the week with a 4-2 record. They were to host Union on Tuesday and then visit Southeast Lauderdale in their first Region 5-3A game of the season on Thursday. On Friday, Choctaw Central visits Louisville.

Corinth started scoring in the early innings and held on for the win.

Corinth scored two in the first and five in the second. Choctaw Central's runs came in the sixth inning.

Betty Mingo took the pitching loss.

LaChrisha Williams led Choctaw Central with a double while Brooklyn Bell and Lashayla McMillan both added a single.

The Lady Warriors bounced back to take a win over Amory.

Choctaw Central scored four in the first, two in the second, four in the third and one in the fifth. Amory's run came in the second inning.

Jasmine Hickman was the winning pitcher.

Choctaw Central finished with 12 hits, led by Raina King with a double and a single; and Ga'vu'eze Morris and Mingo who both hit two singles.
