Former Philadelphia High School standout C.J. Johnson has been lost to the Ole Miss Rebels for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Johnson will undergo surgery on Monday for his injured right ankle.

Johnson, a junior defensive end for the Rebels, broke his leg during the Rebels' spring game. The team's leading pass rusher last season, he has been slowed by the injury in the games he has played in. He has not played since the Rebels' loss to Alabama.

According to reports, Johnson will apply for a medical red shirt and could have two more playing seasons for the Rebels.

Johnson was a five star recruit he signed with the Rebels after his senior season at Ole Miss. The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder switched from linebacker to defensive end his sophomore season. He was a four-year starter at Philadelphia.
