Former Philadelphia High School standout Josh Boyd has been named to play in the 2013 East-West Shrine Game which will be held Jan. 19 at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Boyd will be finishing his college football career at Mississippi State on Jan. 1 when the Bulldogs play Northwestern in the Gator Bowl. He is a three-year letterman at defensive lineman for the Bulldogs.

The game will be shown at 3 p.m. on the NFL Channel.

Since 1925 the East-West Shrine Game has been more than just a football game.
