United Way of East Mississippi will host its third annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply and uniform drive in Neshoba County this year. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 17 at the Community Development Partnership at the Depot. The drive will be from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Stuff the Bus provides the opportunity for citizens to assist their local public elementary schools by donating school supplies, new or gently worn uniforms, and monetary donations.

Elementary schools in Philadelphia School District and Neshoba Central School District will receive school supplies and uniforms. The sponsors this year are The Citizens Bank, The Liberty Shop, Community Development Partnership, and Yates Construction.

The donations received will help the children in our community return to school prepared with the supplies and uniforms they need. According to Channing Peebles, VP of Resource Development and Communications for United Way, “A donation of $60 will provide one child with the school supplies and uniforms needed to go back to school. Without help from the community on this important drive, many children will return to the classroom without the mandatory tools needed to succeed for the school year.” United Way encourages everyone to come out and “Stuff the Bus.”
