DONATIONS FOR FBLA

The Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career Technical Center's FBLA is asking for donations of used cell phones, empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges. LIBRARY TO HOLD PRESCHOOL STORY HOUR

A new preschool story hour is under way at the Neshoba County Public Library. Story hour will be held every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.  Books will be available for checkout following the story.

All preschool children should be accompanied by an adult. The story hour is sponsored by the Rotary Club, the Literacy Council and the Mississippi State Extension Service.



INTRO TO COMPUTER CEU CLASS

An eight-week introduction to computer class is being offered at the Career-Tech Center. Tentatively the class will meet on Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning the week of Jan. 16, 2012. 2.5 CEUs will be given for this course.

CITY SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

The Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Public School District has changed the location of its monthly meeting.

The board will meet in the high school library the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 5:15 p.m.



CEMETERY DONATIONS NEEDED

NESHOBA RESOURCE/ADOPTION UNIT RECRUITMENT DRIVE

The Neshoba Resource/ Adoption Unit Monthly Recruitment Drive will be held Jan. 19, at the Philadelphia Depot located at 256 W. Beacon Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are interested in becoming a Resource Parent through the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), please come out on this day and get the information on how you can become a Licensed Resource Parent.

AARP MEETING

The local AARP chapter will hold its' January meeting on Monday, Jan. 9, at Northside Park in the Senior Citizens Center. Our meeting begins with a potluck supper which starts at 6:30 p.m.  After a brief business meeting, A program of interest will follow. Senior Citizens are invited to bring a covered dish and join us.
