The 2014-2015 school year at Neshoba Central will begin for students at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7.

There will be no registration between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. or 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8.

Anyone wishing to register students those days should do so from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you have not submitted verification of residency you must do so in order to continue enrollment in the Neshoba County School District. Your child will not be officially enrolled until residency has been verified and registered with the school for school year 2014-2015 and will not receive a schedule until the appropriate proofs of residency have been submitted.

House Bill 1530 provides that a compulsory-school-age child who is absent more than 37 percent of the instructional day must be considered absent the entire day. This impacts when you check in or out during the school day. Under this legislation if your child is not present 63 pecent of his/her instructional day they will be counted absent the entire day regardless of the reason for the absence. It is important that every child be present each and every day in order to meet their academic needs. In addition, absenteeism now has a greater impact on school funding due to this bill.
