The Lydian Music Club met Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Beacon Street Baptist church.

This was the first meeting of the club for the year 2013-14.

As a member of the church there, Glenda Richardson welcomed all who came.

The president, Cary Eldridge, presented the program.

We were all in for a very special treat, members said.

Mr. Eldridge had invited Dr. Rosangela Yazbec Sebba to come and perform for us.

Dr. Sebba currently serves as professor of Piano, Theory and Ear Training at Mississippi State University.

She is founder and coordinator of the Brazilian Music Festival, the MSU Piano Pre-College Program, and the MSU Piano Retreat.

Prior to her appointment at the MSU, she held positions at Gustav Ritter State Conservatory-Brazil, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Pearl River Community College.

As a chamber musician, she has accompanied master classes and concerts of several well known artists.

Her program included all four movements of Beethoven's Sonata Op. 2 no.1 in F Minor; all three movements of Sonata Op.79 in G Major, and the First movement of Sonata Op.110 in A Flat Major.

Dr. Sebbu's performance was brilliant, members said.

Everyone present was amazed, and filled with the beauty of classical music at its finest!
