Entertaining comes naturally for Lauren Breedlove, a beautician at Shear Gossip.

The busy mother of one son, Garrison, 8, likes to entertain friends and relatives in her home in the Spring Creek community, often teaming up with boyfriend Traye Evans.

He mans the grill while Lauren takes charge of the side dishes.

Garrison and Lauren moved into their home in the Spring Creek community at the beginning of the year.

She is surrounded by family now so a tasty meal is always just a moment away.

A graduate of Neshoba Central High School, Lauren initially studied graphic design at East Central Community College.

She later managed The Victorian Lady for her mother. She also worked a short time for a finance company and the co-op before returning to East Central in 2010 to study cosmetology.

She absolutely loves her job at Shear Gossip, mostly because of her clients.

"Cutting hair starts many friendships," she said.

In her free time, Lauren likes to paint with acrylics and some oils.

She likes to create "fun things" on canvas.

Garrison keeps his mother busy with his school work and sports.

"He goes to Neshoba Central," Lauren said. "He also plays basketball."

Lauren's family is filled with avid Fairgoers. They spend the entire week in their family cabin where there is always an abundance of food.

"It's a tradition to have stew the first Saturday of the Fair," she said.

While she'd rather prepare her own meals for her family, Lauren likes to occasionally dine out in her favorite Japanese restaurant.

"The majority of the time we grill at home," she said. "Cooking and eating have always been a big part of our family."

Lauren's mother always liked to entertain in their home when she was growing up.

"Somebody was always there eating or playing games," she said.

Like her mother, Lauren likes to try new recipes.

"I'm always looking for something new to try on Internet," she said.

With Thanksgiving just a couple of months away, she's already making plans to prepare her grandmother's traditional sweet potato casserole.

Lauren has shared several of her favorite recipes.
