Mr. and Mrs. Keith Boatner proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Nicole Boatner, to Andrew Dees Dowdy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Dowdy, all of Philadelphia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Woody) Elwood of Philadelphia and Mrs. Annette Boatner and the late James Sydney Boatner of Union.

She is the great granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Elwood of Philadelphiaand the late Willie B. Willingham of Meridian and the late Eva Davis Willingham of Philadelphia, the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dallas of House and the late Mr. and Mrs. Syd Boatner of Collinsville.

Miss Boatner is 2010 graduate of Neshoba Central High School. She is a 2012 graduate of East Central Community College with an associates degree and will graduate May 2014 from Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and a minor in General Business.

Miss Boatner plans to later attend law school while working as a paralegal.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Fletcher and Jimmy Vowell and Mrs. Margaret Dowdy and the late Cecil Lynn Dowdy, all of Philadelphia.

He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Odessa Clark and the late Stanley Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Day and the late Ivey Vowell all of Philadelphia, the late Mr. and Mrs. Carlo Dowdy of New Albany and the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Duett and the late Elmer Dees, all of Philadelphia.

Mr. Dowdy is a 2008 graduate of Neshoba Central High School. He is a 2010 graduate of East Central Community College with an associates degree, a 2012 graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in biology and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Forestry at Mississippi State University.

Vows will be exchanged, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Pierce Castle in Decatur. Formal invitations will be sent. Reception to follow in the castle ballroom.
