Services for Mr. Virgil A. "Bill" Clay were held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. from John E. Stephens Chapel.

The Rev. John Stephens officiated. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clay, 87, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Mississippi Veterans Home in Kosciusko.

He lived most of his life in the Burnside Community. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a construction worker. Mr. Clay was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo Ercel Clay and Pauline Dunn Clay; wife, Marjorie Clay; brothers, Dub Clay and Kenny Clay; and sister, Katherine Howell.

Survivors include daughter, Patti Berberich of Lexington, Ky.; son, Terry Clay of Moncure, N.C.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jacob Robertson, Michael Berberich, Randy Clay, Scott Clay, Kim Robertson and Joy Clay.
