Services for Vernell Sullivan were held Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. from McClain Hays Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. David Richardson and the Rev. Tim Parker officiated. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sullivan, 88, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Baptist Leake Extended Care in Carthage.
She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Bozeman of Philadelphia, Carolyn Howell of Carthage, Rita Stephens of Waco, Texas and Linda Barnes of Carthage; son, Roger Sullivan of Philadelphia; 15 grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Morgan and brother, Claude Edward Sharp, both of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Sullivan; son, Jimmy Sullivan; one granddaughter and brothers, Billy Sharp and Floyd Sharp.
Services for Betty Parkes were held Saturday, June 29 2013, at 12 noon from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Sandra Lynn Price and the Rev. Wayne Hill officiated. Burial followed in Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Parkes, 62, of Kosciusko, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She was born and reared in Noxapater but had made her home in Louisville most of her life. Mrs. Parkes was a member of West End Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include her daughters, Tonya Burkett of Decatur, Ga. and Ashley Parkes of Kosciusko; son, William "Bill" Parkes; mother, Mavis Burkes Addkison and sister, Peggy Ingram, all of Louisville; brother, Billy Burkes of Sardis and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Clark, Cameron Clark, Clarence Goodin, Brad Burkett, Ben Burkett, Brandon Wood and Samantha Lynn Reed.
