Services for Ruben Starr were Monday, April 8, 2013, at 12 noon from 236 Willis Road.

The Rev. Leonard Ben officiated. Burial will follow in Starr Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Starr, 75, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Meridian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Summers Starr and Maggie Billy; son, Eric Starr; sisters, Norma Jean Starr, Juana One Arrow Starr Wishork and Dorothy Starr Wishork; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Maybelle Sockey Starr; daughters, Brenda Starr Dixon, Allison Starr Abasi, Sylvia Starr Phillips, Laura Starr Allen and Penny Starr Isaac; son, Kenny Kane Starr; sister, Willie Wayne Starr; brother, John E. Starr; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Edward L. Rangel, Ralph Isaac, Dan Isaac, Jathan Brisco, Alexander Billy, Wilson Billie Jr., Davien Billy, Lonnie Isaac, Andrew Sockey and Dudley Denson.
