Services for Roy A. Martin were held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. from New Zion United Pentecostal Church with military honors. The Reverends Randall Dunaway, Glynn Barker and Tim Vowell officiated. Burial followed in Henry'sChapel Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Martin, 93, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Fork community in Neshoba County. He was a retired farmer/carpenter. Mr. Martin was a member of New Zion United Pentecostal Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII where he was awarded the Bronze Star.

Survivors include his daughters, Patsy (James) Kirkland of Philadelphia and Beth Warren of Philadelphia; sons, Joe Martin of Forest and Charles (Shirley) Martin of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Keela (Philip) White, Juane Kirkland, Dr. Patrick (Courtney) Kirkland, Mandy (Wesley) Bradley, Mistie (Keith) King, Landon Warren, Rev. Joel (Tammy) Martin,

Susanne (Clay) Harmon, Christie (Terry) Rodriguez, and Rev. Jason (Brandi) Martin; great-grandchildren, Kyndal White, Abigail Kirkland, Caleb Kirkland, Austin Waddell, Kaleigh Waddell, Jayden Bradley, Bethany Bradley, Bella Warren, Brandon King, Kanon King, Zac Harmon, Shancey Harmon, Ashlyn Martin, Addalyn Martin, Madison Rodriguez, McKenzie Rodriguez, Caelan Martin, and Cade Martin; great-great-grandchildren, Ian King, Slade King, and Knox King; and brother-in-law, Rev. Brown Barrier of Philadelphia.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Arlie Martin; infant daughter, Norma Faye Merle Martin, daughter-in-law, Sue Martin; son-in-law, Lamar Warren, great-grandson, Ethan Bradley; and parents, Joe and Mattie Martin.

Pallbearers were Juane Kirkland, Rev. Jason Martin, Rev. Joel Martin, Dr. Patrick Kirkland, Landon Warren, Austin Waddell, Zac Harmon, and Cade Martin.
