Services for Rodney Lawrence Copeland were held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 10 a.m. from North Band United Pentecostal Church.

The Rev. Nathan Moore and the Rev. Bennie Alford officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Copeland, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at his residence.

He retired from the Forestry Commission. He was a member of North Bend United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include wife, Opal Copeland; daughters, Debby Alford and Diane Alford; son, Ronald Joe Copeland; sisters, Tommie Ruthvens and Charlotte Burton; sister-in-law, Doris Copeland; brothers, Larry Copeland and Stanley Copeland; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Ed Copeland and Flossie Lofton Copeland; step-grandson, Brandon Jenkins; brother, Raybon Copeland; and son-in-law, Wayne Alford.

Pallbearers were Rodney Eric Copeland, Robby Alford, Kevin Alford, Dylan Alford, Thomas Cameron and Drew Jones.
