Services for Rev. Wilson V. Peninger were held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 1 p.m. from New Zion Pentecostal Church in Neshoba County with Rev. Albert Reid, Bro. Marlon Adcock and Bro. Randall Dunaway officiating.

Burial followed in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.  

McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Peninger, 90, of Ackerman, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at his home.

He was a native of Attala County and longtime resident of Choctaw County.

He was founder and longtime pastor of First United Pentecostal Church in Ackerman.  Rev. Peninger was a member of the United Pentecostal Church Organization.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War Era.

Survivors include wife, Itra Benson Peninger of Ackerman; son, Gary W. Peninger of Ackerman; one grandson; two step-granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
