Miss Yates was born on Nov. 26, 1947, and passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Neshoba County General Hospital. She was 65 years of age. Becky, a special needs child, lived with her mother and daddy the first forty-one years of her life, until her mother died in 1988. In February, 1989 she began living with her sister and brother-in-law, Janette (Jan) and Pete Williamson in Little Rock, Ark., a new life she thoroughly enjoyed. In 2005, Jan, Pete and Becky moved to the home place in Philadelphia.

In her early years, she attended school at Longino and Bond first through seventh grades. She attended Longino Methodist Church with her mother and daddy her first forty-one years. After moving back to Mississippi, she along with Jan and Pete, joined the First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia where Becky was baptized February 2006. She loved going to church and loved her "preacher."

Becky has always been a happy, loving, well-mannered person. She never realized she was "different" from other people. She has always been loved and taken care of by every member of her family and friends. She has lived a much longer life than was expected when she was born. She will always be remembered as a special and humbling part of her family.

Becky's parents were Hugh and Rosalee Yates, both deceased; sisters, Kathleen Yates Mitchell and her husband, Charles, both deceased, Janette Yates Williamson and her husband, Pete; brothers, James W. (Bill) Yates and his wife Patricia, deceased, Lynn Yates and his wife, Brenda; one nephew, Michael Keith Yates; five nieces, Karen Mitchell, Nancy Mitchell Gunn, Kim Yates Price, Jan Mitchell Rader and Janet Yates Allen.
