Services for Pete Vines were held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Waggoner officiating.

Burial followed in Old Pearl Valley Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vines, 68, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

He was born and reared in the Spring Creek community of Neshoba County. He made his home in Jackson for many years where he worked for Watson Quality Ford, Inc. before retiring and moving back to Neshoba County in 2005. Mr. Vines was a member of Old Pearl Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joan Vines of Philadelphia; daughters, Angie (Mark) Drennan and April (John) Tillery; son, Paul (Jennifer) Vines; grandchildren, Matthew Drennan, Ashlyn Drennan, Sarah Tillery, Grace Tillery Ava Tillery, Amanda Vines and Drake Vines all of Brandon; sisters, Estelle Barnett of Philadelphia, Martha Jones of Philadelphia, Mary Livingston of Union and Anita Green of Brandon; and brothers, Baudie Vines of Philadelphia, Rudolph Vines of Jackson and Joe Vines of Philadelphia.

Mr. Vines was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Mable Vines; sister, Pauline Vines; and brother, Lee "Son" Vines.

Pallbearers were James Vines, Mark Guthrie, Bernard Savell, Johnny Wayne Marshall, Larry Walker, Paul Clewis, Chandler Vines, and Ronald Fulton.
