Peggy was born July 21, 1933, in Neshoba County, Mississippi, to Clois Ethel Payne and Mary Eunice Tolbert Payne and passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord after a long fight with cancer on August 15, 2018.

She graduated from Coldwater High School as Valedictorian of her class.

She received a Technical Business Degree in Memphis, Tennessee.

She worked for the Social Security Administration for 30 years in Memphis, Philadelphia, Pensacola, and Cleveland. She retired to Oxford, Mississippi, to watch her beloved Ole Miss Rebels.

She was a church pianist for over 30 years and played for several musical groups, choirs, and quartets. She also taught piano in Oxford to a multitude of students.

She is survived by three children, Patsy Stewart (Mike) of Aurora, Colorado, Ed (Brad) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Bryan (Karen) of Cleveland, Mississippi. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Vickie Watkins and Cameron Stewart of Aurora, CO, Tara Coleman of Oxford, MS, Bill Watkins of Sebastopol, MS, and a great-granddaughter, Kristin Watkins of Aurora, CO.

She was predeceased by her parents, lifelong Neshoba County residents, Clois and Eunice Payne of Coldwater , her husband Dewey Vincent Coleman, son Kenneth Jeffrey Coleman and brother Jack Payne.

She is survived nine siblings, Yvonne Cheatham of Franklin, NC, Laquita Edmonds of Mooresville, NC, Glenda (Jimmie) Gregory of Louisville, MS, Mabe Turner, Hoyt (Margie) Payne, Uhl (Janice) Payne, Jo Walters, Weegie (Robert) Thomas, and Rhonda Thomas, all of Philadelphia, sister-in-law, Rachel Payne of Caledonia; and numerous nieces, nephews, andcousins.
