Services for Mildred Bates Wolverton were held Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 3 p.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Eddie Rester and the Rev. Julian Davis officiated. Burial followed in Bethsaida Cemetery.

Mrs. Wolverton, of Hattiesburg, died March 25, 2014. She was born in Neshoba County and after college worked at Deweese Lumber Company in Philadelphia.

She and her husband made their home in Hattiesburg where she worked for Richton Tie and Timber for 32 years. She was an active member of the Parkway Heights United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg.

Survivors include her husband, Don; and sisters, Mavis Smith of Rogers, Ark., Lessie Williamson of Hattiesburg, Dot Winstead and Jane Breland both of Union.

Mrs. Wolverton was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel M. and Nettie Carter Bates; brother, Francis M. Bates; half brothers, Dovie and Virgil Bates and half sisters, Lonie White, Alvie Bates and Iris Sharp.
