Services for Mrs. Melva D. Burton were Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. from Sandtown United Methodist Church with Rev. Anthony Miller and Rev. Hal Hall officiating. Burial followed in Sandtown Cemetery.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  

 

Mrs. Burton, 94, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, January 11, 2020.

 

She was a native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Sandtown Community. She was retired from Wells Lamont Glove Factory.  Mrs. Burton was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the choir, Sandtown Christianaires, and share groups.



Survivors include her daughters, Janice Smith of Brandon, MS; Teresa Wolfe of Philadelphia, MS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Willis Moore of Franklin, LA.

 

Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Burton; daughter, Charlotte Kilpatrick; grandchild, Kim Kilpatrick; parents, Pat and Nettie Moore; eight brothers and sisters.
