Services for Marlene Clark Permenter were held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mack Alford officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Permenter, 74, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her residence.

She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. She was a retired registered nurse and worked for Dr. R.L. Moore for a number of years. Mrs. Permenter was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Neshoba County.

Survivors include her daughter, Penny Sharp (Danny) of Philadelphia; sons, Walt Permenter (Marie) of Philadelphia and Brad Permenter (Jimmie) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Andy Sharp, Amy Sharp, Matt Permenter, Jessica Permenter Graham, Madison Alford, Morgan Alford, Kip Nance, and Candee Nance Beckham; great-grandchildren, William Beckham, John Cross Beckham, Ellee Beckham, Maggie Nance and Harley Burrage; sister, Willene Harris (T.O.) of Moss Point; brother, Joe Clark (Carolyn) of Decatur; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Permenter was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Edd" Permenter; an infant son, Robert Clark Permenter; sister, Wanda Ward and brothers, Raymond Clark and Dwight Clark.

Pallbearers were Andy Sharp, Matt Permenter, Justin Ward, Mark Peebles, Kyle Peebles, Bo Clark, Stephen Clark, Richard Beckham, Kip Nance and Jamie Graham. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Burden and Jimmy Rea.
