Services for Mabel H. Truhitt were held Friday, Jan. 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union.
The Rev. Jon Martin and the Rev. Rusty Walton officiated. Burial followed in the Greenland Cemetery.
Ms. Truhitt, 90, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Truhitt taught school for 42 years in Newton and Neshoba County. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a nursery worker for many years.
Survivors include sisters, Jewel Edwards, Lillian McWilliams, Sue Saxon and Sarah Hall; and brothers, Ozell Hardy, Charles Hardy and Jim Hardy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Truhitt; infant son, Danny Charles; infant daughter, Alice Elaine; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hardy.
Pallbearers were Keith Mooney, Mark Saxon, Brian Saxon, Stan Hardy, Billy McWilliams, Eddie Truhitt, Dale Yates and Billy Chisolm.
