Funeral services for Mrs. Lauraine Watkins Tew were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Rev. John Stephens and the Rev. Mike Skinner officiating. Interment followed in Morrow Cemetery in the Dixon Community. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Tew, 84, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Neshoba County General Hospital. She was born and reared in the Neshoba Community. Mrs. Tew was a cosmetologist. She owned and operated Coiffures by Lauraine and Tews Family Shoes for many years. She was a member of Linwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tew was preceded in death by her parents, John Franklin Watkins and Adra Pearl Watkins; husband, Ernest Tew (1998); son, Dorman Tew (1975); brothers, Margie Elton Watkins, Floyd Watkins, Willard Watkins and Dan Watkins; sister, Dot St. Clair.
Mrs. Tew is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura Mason and her husband, Carl of Union; brother, Hayden Watkins of Red Bay; three grandchildren, John Barry Mason and his wife, Melissa of Union, Karen Tew Lea of Madison and Stacy Tew McDonald and her husband, Kline of Rosebud; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Randy Nicholson, Marty Sistrunk, Brad Stuart, Eric Clark, Jimmy McDaniel and Billy Singleton.
