Kenneth R. Pope Sr. 88 of Pascagoula passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Collins.

Mr. Pope was born Jan. 31, 1925, to Arthur and Willec Pope in Neshoba County. He was a self -employed barber who operated "Popes Barber Shop" in Pascagoula. Mr. Pope always had a smile and a good story to share. He was an outgoing person who enjoyed gardening, fishing, making music and sharing a good laugh with friends and family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Valeska Pope; two sisters, Marvene Lovern, Ruby Holley; four brothers, Raydon, J. W. "Fat Tom" Pope, Earsel Pope, and his infant twin brother.

He is survived by two sons; Mickel Pope ( Janice) and Rayford Pope (Donna); two daughters, Valerie Davidson and Doreen Rockwell (Brian); one brother, Bobby Pope; two sisters, Marie Lovern and Margie Watkins; 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. from the chapel with the Rev. Rayford Pope, the Rev. Paul Springer and the Rev. Gene Emswiler officiating. Services will conclude at Serene Memorial Gardens with military honors.
