Services for Homer Coats were held Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Austin Bishop officiated. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coats, 86, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born and reared in Neshoba County where he made his home most of his life. Mr. Coats was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Coats was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willie Coats; sisters, Edith Lowe, Faye Baysinger and Margie Richardson Johnson and brothers, Ethel J. Coats and John B. Coats.

Pallbearers were Eddie Olmedo, Luis Montgomery, Caleb Richardson, Tavin Wallack, Justin Richardson and Billy Joe Cunningham.
