Funeral services for Harvey N. Henson, age 84, of Dekalb, were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lynville Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Gully and the Rev. Randy Caldwell officiating.

Burial followed in McRae Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Mr. Henson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in Anderson Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired wood yard manager for International Paper Co with over 30 years of service. Mr. Henson also was an avid fisherman and musician.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Thomas Henson of DeKalb; children, Wayne (Laneta) Henson of Quitman and Bob (Beth) Henson of Philadelphia; daughter in law, Phoebe Henson of Philadelphia; step daughter, Sharon (Tommy) Holland of Philadelphia; and step son, Tommy (Shannon) Eldridge of Hernando.

Mr. Henson leaves his grandchildren, Brian (Mary Martha) Henson of Brandon, Joy (Terry) Sowell of Alabaster, Ala., Jennifer Prince, Amelia Henson, Zoie Henson, Haley Holland and Tyler Holland all of Philadelphia, Kennedy Eldridge and Emory Eldridge both of Hernando; and two great grandchildren, Calvin Prince and Callie Prince of Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by a son Jim Henson and wives Jonnie Henson and Margaret Henson.

Pallbearers serving are Stanley Pearman, Tommy Eldridge, Tommy Holland, Brian Henson, Terry Sowell, Mike Hull, Billy Allen and Wayne Eldridge.
