Services for Cecil N. Peebles were held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Steve Winstead officiated. Burial followed in Cedarlawn Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peebles, 96, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Meridian.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser Co. Mr. Peebles was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during WWII.

Survivors include his daughter, Janice Winstead of Enterprise; son, Norris Peebles of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Otezell Adams of Meridian, Alma Eakes of Florida, Velma "Bill" Morris and Zelma "Tut" Henley, both of Philadelphia; and brothers, Henry Ford Peebles and Jackie Peebles, both of Philadelphia.

Pallbearers were Johnny Peebles, David Henley, Kenny Livingston, Michael Winstead, Dale Winstead and Howard Rochay.
