Services for Ms. Aquila C. Mayo were held Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. from Plattsburg Baptist Church.

The Rev. John Stephens and the Rev. Melvin Fedrick officiated. Burial followed in the Plattsburg cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Mayo, 85, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at her daughter's home in Kilmichael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William David Collins and Betti Nancy Hamilton Collins; husband, Albert Cauley Mayo; brothers, William David Collins and Frank Collins; sisters, Bernice Pace and Nancy Ferguson; half-brother, Earl Collins.

Survivors are daughters, Betty L. Mowdy, Sandra Tyler and Karen Regan; sons, Carl Mayo, Gerald Lee Mayo and Sheron D. Mayo; sisters, Mary Ruth Watkins, Eloise Divine and Irene Rodgers; brother, Michael Collins; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Lee Tyler, Colby Glenn Varnes, Jamie Dewayne Mayo, Jeff Mayo, Jason Mayo and Kenny Lee Mayo.
