A Philadelphia woman was convicted last week of shoplifting nearly $4,000 worth of merchandise from a downtown clothing store three years ago.

Char'Brecia Stevens, 22, was convicted in Circuit Court of shoplifting more than $3,600 from Steve's on the Square in an incident that dates back to December 2015.

According to District Attorney Steven Kilgore, Stevens and four others were indicted for grabbing what he described as armfuls of items, totaling more than 50 items in all and taking those items from the store.

Although they were indicted, the others could not be located according to the DA and Philadelphia Police Chief Grant Myers.
