Authorities are looking for a Choctaw teen-ager reported missing earlier last month.

Choctaw Tribal Police in conjunction with other local agencies are on the lookout for 16-year-old Jasmine Tessie Velez.

Choctaw Public Information official Misty Brescia said that tribal officials have no updates at this time.

Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell said that his department stands ready to assist in any way they can.

A notice released by the Klaas Kids Foundation, an organization that helps look for missing children, said that Velez was last seen in the Pearl River Community.

The notice states that Velez is believed to be with an adult male and could be in the proximity of Philadelphia, Louisville, DeKalb, Collins, Carthage or Meridian.

Velez is described as being five feet, two inches in height and roughly 160 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information pertaining to the disappearance of Velez is encouraged to call Tribal Police at (601) 656-5711 or KlaasKIDS at (855) 733-5567.
