Three juveniles face auto theft charges after taking a car from a residence in the Stallo community and a van from Louisville, the authorities said.

A homeowner in the Stallo community had returned inside her home after cranking her vehicle to let it warm when she saw it leaving the driveway and headed north on Highway 15 last Wednesday night, Sheriff Tommy Waddell said.

"The Sheriff's office put out a BOLO alert on the vehicle and called Winston and Naxapater authorities," he said. "They attempted to stop the vehicle in Noxapater. The driver and a passenger jumped from the vehicle. One fled on foot and the other jumped into a van that was following their vehicle."

The van was stopped and the two juveniles were charged. The one who fled on foot later turned himself in to authorities.

"After they stopped the van, it was determined it had been stolen out of Louisville," Waddell said.

The juveniles range in ages from 15 to 17.

The case will be turned over to the Neshoba County Youth Court, he said.
