The Taylor Group hopes to fill several positions during the Mid-Mississippi Area Job Fair Thursday, including electricians, generator tech, sales, electrical assembly and DOT drivers.

The job fair, which is part of the Governor's Job Fair Network, is free to all job seekers. It will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Neshoba County Coliseum.

More than 30 companies and organizations will have booths set up at the job fair. Tyson Foods alone hopes to fill 25 positions.

Lowe's Home Improvement is seeking to fill nine positions, mostly customer service associates for such departments as tools and hardware, paint, building material, inside and outside lawn and garden and plumbing.

Working Solutions has positions open for an administrative assistant, customer service, forklift operator, accounting clerk, warehouse, machine operator and assembly.

The Citizens Bank will be at the job fair as well hoping to fill various positions.

Community Development Partnership President David Vowell expects a good turnout of job seekers.

"Adam Todd, with the Governor's Job Fair Network, said we're looking at 36 companies being there right now," Vowell said. "They're looking to fill everything from heavy manufacturing to light clerical to retail jobs."

Vowell said due to the extensive promotion of the fair, especially from the local newspaper, it has the potential to be the biggest job fair he's worked on.
