The Tennessee Valley Authority is taking public comments and holding an open house to answer questions about a transmission line project to supply Central Electric Power Association's upgraded substation and improve power reliability in the area.

TVA is proposing to build about 12 miles of 161-kilovolt transmission line from a line supplied by TVA's existing Philadelphia Substation to Central EPA's proposed upgraded substation southwest of House, Miss.

TVA is considering several alternative routes. The line would be built on steel pole structures on new 100-foot right of way.

Public input is encouraged, beginning with an open house on Thursday, March 27 from 3-7 p.m., at the Neshoba County Coliseum - Concourse, 12000 State Highway 15 North, Philadelphia, Miss., 39350.

Detailed maps showing the different possible locations for the proposed power line will be available.

TVA staff will answer questions, discuss concerns and receive comments.
