Marcia S. Seligman has been named the new general counsel for Pearl River Resort.

Seligman has over 30 years of experience in providing legal advice and counsel to a wide range of corporate clients in various industries including major food companies, gaming, racing, retail, real estate, and entertainment.

Prior to accepting her new position, she served as vice president and general counsel at Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort, a successful gaming company and resort owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut.

In her role at Mohegan Sun, Seligman effectively managed the legal function of all resort transactions and drafted agreements and documents concerning matters such as information services, licensing and software, entertainment and marketing.

She has also served as vice president and general counsel at Peninsula Gaming, LLC in Dubuque, Iowa, and Grand Casinos, Inc. in Minnetoka, Minn.

Other positions held include legal consultant and of counsel for Pillsbury Company; senior counsel and Director of Legal Services at the Center Companies; and assistant secretary to general counsel at Musicland Group in Minneapolis, Minn.

During her career, Seligman also provided her legal expertise at the law firms: Dunkley, Bennett, Christensen & Madigan and Morrison & Fenske, P.A.

She earned her L.L.M. degree in corporation and commercial law from New York University School of Law and her J.D. degree from Hamline University of Law in St. Paul, Minn.

She received her bachelor's degree in political science from Boston University.

In her new role of general counsel, Seligman serves as the resort's chief legal officer and is responsible for providing legal guidance to the board of directors and senior management on matters relating to the resort.
