A Philadelphia man was arrested and charged with felony drug charges in the early morning hours of St. Patrick’s Day.

Philadelphia police officers arrested and charged Bobby C. Boler, 27, 391 Jericho Street, with possession of a controlled substance and DUI.

Police Chief Grant Myers said that Boler was stopped after officers on patrol on Atkins street saw a vehicle leaving a residence around 2:40 a.m.

The officer saw that the vehicle had no lights on and when they pulled behind the vehicle noticed it had no license plate.

“After they stopped the vehicle they found an active contempt of court warrant for Boler,” Myers said.

Myers said a search of the car revealed a felony amount of what police believe to be MDMA, known as ecstasy.

Police found and confiscated a pistol as well. Myers said a passenger in the car was taken in on an active warrant for failure to pay fines as well.
