The Philadelphia Main Street Assn has been accredited as a 2013 National Main Street Program. Philadelphia Main Street program has been evaluated on its performance in 2012 and determined to have met all 10 performance standards and criteria to be named an accredited Main Street program.

These standards of performance help us keep the Main Street movement strong and focused nationally. The 10 standards of performance require a National Main Street Program to:

• Have broad-based community support for the commercial district revitalization process, with strong support from both the public and private sectors;

• Develop vision and mission statements relevant to community conditions and to the local Main Street programs organizational stage;

• Have a comprehensive Main Street work plan

• Possess and exhibit an historic preservation ethic

• Have an active board of directors and committees

• Have an adequate operating budget

• Have a paid professional program manager

• Conduct a program of ongoing training for staff and volunteers

• Report key statistics and

• Having a current membership in the National Main Street Network membership program
