A Philadelphia Utilities lineman, injured in a high voltage contact while attempting to restore service at the depot Saturday, was dismissed from a Jackson burn center Monday, PU Manager John Burt said.

"He is home today and is recovering," he said.

The incident occurred Saturday about 10:30 a.m.

"He was taken to the ER at Neshoba General by a police officer who offered to carry our employee straight to the hospital," Burt said. "It was great. They had him there within a few minutes of when the accident happened."

The lineman was taken to the burn center in Jackson by ambulance, Burt said.

"It's great that he is home and we are pulling for him. We've had a ton of calls about people inquiring about him. It is nice to know that people care as much as they do."
