Time has come again for Philly Youth Football registration for new and old players. If you are interested in playing football and cheering with Philly Youth Football and between the ages 4-12 years old, please see the below names. Bethany Family Reunion
The Bethany family reunion will be on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the coliseum beginning at 10 a.m.

The annual Scooba Day barbecue and horse show will be Aug. 30 at the Scooba Riding Club Arena. Horse show begins at 10 a.m. Sign up begins at 9:30 a.m. Negative Coggins test papers must accompany all horses entering the grounds. 24th annual Forestry and Wildlife Festival
Saturday, Sept. 27 will be a very special day in Clarke County as it will celebrate the annual Clarke County Forestry and Wildlife Festival at Archusa Water Park in Quitman.
The Clarke County Chamber of Commerce sponsors the festival in an effort to promote the county for tourism and to provide family fun for area residents. It is the main event of the fall season for our Chamber and for our county.
Activities will begin at 9 a.m. The event will include Children's Breakfast with Special Characters, a car and truck show, Kiddie-Land with Nickelodeon-type children's games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, bass tournament, equipment displays, and porcelain chariot races. Ted Mangum from Ellisville will have his huge "Little Red Wagon." There will also be lots of good food, including homemade ice cream, and a chance to win $500 cash. Bring a lawn chair and spend the day.
Registrations are now being accepted for booth spaces for the event. Spaces are available for Arts & Crafts, trades, industrial, equipment exhibits and food sales. Booth registration deadline is Sept. 23.

The Little Zion M.B. Church will be having their annual homecoming Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. James Steele from Brown Ridge Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Revival will be Aug. 18-22 starting at 7 p.m. Rev. A.C. Rush will be the speaker. The public is invited.
Collins Family Reunion
The Collins family reunion Cousin Fun Day will be Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Mississippi Muse Cabin at Oka-Itsu Puah Falls in Decatur from 1-6 p.m. Come join us in a day of family fun. Hot dogs will be provided, please bring snacks of your choice to go with the hot dogs and bring soda.
On Sunday, Aug. 17, we will have the annual Collins family reunion at Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House community after Sunday service. All friends are invited, please bring a covered dish.
God's Tabernacle Women's Workshop
We invite all women to our women's workshop. We hope you can come out and take a part in this workshop.
The theme is "Trying to please God." The workshop is Aug. 12-14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Revival services will also be held from Aug. 11-15 at 7 p.m. Elder Charles Nash, evangelist, will be there.
The American Legion Post 138 and Ladies Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. We will install the new officers for next year. The meal will consist of potluck, desserts, and tea.
Benefit for Cancer Patient
A benefit for Frances Dennis will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 from 4 p.m. until at the Zion Church of God (The Old Arbor) on Zion Road between Sebastopol and Rosebud. Uncle Pug's Blue Grass Band will play and sing from 5-6 p.m.
Hamburger and hot dog plates will be for sale, also cakes, ice cream and other food items. An auction will go from 6 p.m. until.

Steve Stubbs, curator of the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Historical Museum, will present a program Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Neshoba County Public Library, to discuss the history of the museum as well as the exhibits and plans for the future of the museum. Call 601-656-4911 for more information.
Faithway Baptist Church will be hosting a gospel singing featuring the Gospel Warriors at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. A love offering will be taken. Neshoba County-Philadelphia Youth Soccer Organization is now taking registration for children ages 4-14 (before Aug. 1) for the 2014 season.
You can register at City Hall Monday through Friday and on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at The Log Cabin Northside Park.
Registration fee is $70 and includes uniform (shirt, shorts, and socks).
NCHS Class of 1964 50th Reunion
The Neshoba Central High School Class of 1964 will have a 50-year class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center located at Northside Park. The cost will be $15 a person and dress is casual.

Free Summer Meals
Youth Development and Education Center, Inc. is proud to announce that we will be sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program beginning June 2 through Aug. 8 at Providence M.B. Church in Philadelphia. These nutritious meals are provided thru USDA guidelines.
Breakfast will be served from 8-9:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
This is a summer meals program provided without charge to school age children up to age 18. There will be no discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
This is a community based project scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. everyday which plans to also include educational and recreational activities of reading, tutoring and some physical activities. For more information contact Annette at 601-732-7390.

Calling all seniors to come out on Tuesday nights at 5 p.m. for some bingo fun at the Northside Park Senior Citizens building. There is only a $2 admission. Refreshments will be served. This is for ages 55 and up!
NAMI Support Group
NAMI Meridian would like to invite any adult diagnosed with a mental illness to join the Connection support group every Tuesday from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. at the Wesley House Community Center at 1520 8th Ave. NAMI stands for National Alliance on Mental Illness and is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and supporting those living with mental illness and their families.
