Youth Extravaganza

High Hill Baptist Church will have a Youth Extravaganza on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. each night. Guest speaker will be Joe Smith. The Choctaw Winter Flea Market, hosted by the Mississippi United Methodist Choctaw Mission, will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Pushmataha Family Life Center Gymnasium. County School Board Meeting

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Neshoba County School Board for February has been changed from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room.

Registration is now open for an eight-week CEU classes at the Career-Tech (formerly Vo-Tech) Center. Potential classes offered: Intro to computer, Technology for Teachers, Microsoft Office '13, Basic Automotive and Sewing Design. Other classes may be offered if enough students are interested.

Any class offered must have a minimum number registered for the class to make. The cost of 25-hour class (2.5 CEUs) is $100 due at registration.

You may register Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. or Friday from 7:30 am until 3 p.m. until classes fill or begin. Classes will start later in January 2014. For more information, call 601-656-8544.

NARFE Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Central MS Chapter 1251 of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Ronnie's Steak and Grill, 734 Pecan Avenue. Sta-Home Volunteers

Volunteers have many opportunities with Sta-Home's hospice program, such as providing companionship to patients and caregivers, shopping for the families, light housekeeping, baking and cooking, filing and making phone calls. Currently we are looking for volunteers ages 16 years and older with a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance. 125th Fair Flag


Entries for the 125th Neshoba County Fair flag competition are due Saturday, Feb. 1. Flag designs can be mailed to Neshoba County Fair 16800 Highway 21 south, Philadelphia, MS 39350, or dropped off at the Fair office. They may also be dropped off at the Community Development Partnership office. The designer's name, address, city, state, address, zip code and phone number should be included with the submission. The Board is asking for 57-by-32-inch flag entries that are colorful, festive and feature the Neshoba County Fair logo. The 125th Neshoba County Fair can also be incorporated.

Neshoba Co. Youth Football AND Cheer Banquet

The Neshoba County Youth Football and Cheer awards banquet will be held on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Neshoba County Coliseum. You don't won't to miss it. The food will be great, and the children will have smiles as they receive their awards. Ticket prices are $8 in advance for adults and $4 for kids age 5 and older. Kids 4 and under eat free. Members of football and cheer teams eat free. Tickets will be $10 at the door. Northside Park

senior Citizens

Calling all seniors to come out on Thursday nights at 5 p.m. for some bingo fun at the Northside Park Senior Citizens building. There is only a $2 admission. Refreshments will be served. This is for ages 55 and up!

A book is being compiled on the history of Oneness Pentecostals in Neshoba County. Churches include Macedonia, North Bend, Chisolm College and others.
