COLDWATER BAPTIST CHURCH REVIVAL

Revival services will be held at Coldwater Baptist Church from Sept. 29 - Oct. 2. Bro. Don Savell will be the guest speaker and Larron Johnson will be in charge of the music. Sunday services will be at 11 p.m. and 6 p.m. Services Monday through Wednesday will begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.



Lynville School Reunion

The annual Lynville School reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the school.  Any student who attended the school or teacher who taught is welcome for the event. The reunion begins at 11 a.m. and continues through 1 p.m. Many people have worked diligently  so that the meeting can be held in the school.

Miss Hospitality

Selection for Neshoba County's Miss Hospitality 2014 will begin soon. This scholarship program represents Neshoba County and competes at the state level for title of Mississippi's Miss Hospitality. Octoberfest

Philadelphia-Neshoba County Arts Council will hold Octoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 19 at DeWeese Park (next to library). There will be lots of great food, entertainment, children's games and arts and crafts.

GENEALOGY PROGRAM

The Neshoba County Public Library will host a genealogy workshop, "Archives A to Z," Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Anne Lipscomb Webster, Mississippi Department of Archives and History, will be the guest speaker.

Pierce Family Reunion

The Bud and Pearlie Sharp Pierce annual family reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Bloomfield Congregational Methodist Church fellowship hall. All relatives and friends are asked to bring a covered dish and old pictures and enjoy the day with us.

Neshoba Central "Big Blue" Alumni Reunion

Band directors Daniel Wade, Scott Sullender and Mrs. Amanda May would like to invite all Neshoba Central High School Band Alumni to join "Big Blue" for our second annual reunion, Friday, Oct. 4. We will march in with the "Big Blue" Marching Band and can play with the band during first, second quarters and during halftime on the field! Branning-Chapman Reunion

The Branning-Chapman Reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Sandtown United Methodist Family Life Center. All friends and family are welcome. Social time starting at 10:30 a.m. and the potluck meal will be served at noon. Bring your favorite dish to share.



Revival at High Hill Baptist

High Hill Baptist Church in Neshoba County will hold revival services Sept 29-Oct. 2 with services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Rev. Randall Creel will lead the services. Bro. Don Cook is the pastor.



Cooks Chapel Back to School Bash

The 2nd Annual Cooks Chapel Back to School Bash will be held on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Worship begins at 6 p.m. Off of Highway 16 East, turn north on Highway 491 at Ford's store. Church is located 1/2 mile on left.



Community Clothing Outreach

The Word of God Church at 231 Line St. has a community clothing outreach every Saturday from 8-12. The clothing is donated from the community. A 50 cent donation is asked for each piece to help in the ministry of the church. For more information, call 601-575-1942.

SERVSAFE FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION

A one-day ServSafe Food Safety Certification class will be held in Philadelphia in the Neshoba County Coliseum multi-purpose room on Nov. 15. The registration deadline is Oct. 15. Open House at Philadelphia-Neshoba County Career Technical Center

The Philadelphia-Neshoba County Career Technical Center will hold "Open House" on Monday, Oct. 14 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. The Career Technical Center is located at 900 Valley View Drive in Philadelphia.

The Center serves high school students from the local high school and offers the following technical programs: Automotive Service Technology, Construction Technology/Carpentry, Early Childhood Development, Health Sciences, Metal Fabrication/Manufacturing Technology, and Teacher Academy.

All students, parents, and community members are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

The Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career Technical Center is a division of East Central Community College.



White Family Reunion

NARFE Meeting

It's almost here! The PHS Class of 1973 will celebrate their 40th Reunion the weekend of Oct. 18-20. We are still trying to locate and contact some of our classmates and teachers. LIBRARY PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

Tree orders

The Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation District will be taking tree orders through Oct. 15.

You can come by the office to place your order from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday or call us at 601-656-8783 Ext. 3 and we will fax, e-mail or mail you an order form to you.

The office is located at 511 East Lawn Drive in the USDA Building. We are asking that you pay for the trees when placing your order.

The trees are bare root trees and will arrive in February 2014. By ordering bulk wholesale we can pass the savings on to you. Proceeds from tree sales will help support educational programs throughout the year.

You can drop by the office and pick up a list of trees that we will be selling this year or if there is a particular tree that you are wanting, that is not on the list, we can try to order it.

Word of God Community Outreach

Come browse through our clothing community outreach. You will find many name brand clothing. The community outreach is open each Saturday morning from 8 a.m.-12 noon located at 23 Line Ave. Everything is donated from our loving community of people to help our church ministry. Neshoba County Youth football AND Cheer

Registration will be held at Northside old soccer field every Saturday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. The cost for cheer is $100 which includes uniform, pom poms, hairpiece, and shoes. Cheer Coordinators are Angela Tatum-601-575-0711 and Ashley Coleman-601-416-1796.

SUPPORT FOR FALL FUN DAY NEEDED

This is the eighth year for the Fall Fun Day for special needs youth of Neshoba County. It will be held Thursday, Oct. 24 in the Neshoba County Coliseum. Assistance from church groups, civic clubs, families and others is requested to conduct various activity booths for the children that morning from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Sponsorships for this event are also requested.
