Pre-K Program Registration
The Neshoba County School District Pre-Kindergarten Program is located the at the Neshoba Count Parent Resource Center Building at Valley View.
If you wish for your 4-year old child to be tested for the pre-K program, come to the Parent Resource Center for registration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on May 1-15. It is not necessary for your child to be present on the day of registration. If all registration materials are presented, an appointment will be assigned for your child to be screened for placement.

Herrington family reunion
The annual Herrington family reunion will be held on Saturday, April 6, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House community. All descendants of the Herrington family are invited to attend. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship.

Alzheimer's Care Giver's Support Group
The monthly Alzheimer's Care Giver's Support Group will meet April 8 at 5:30 p.m. at East Philadelphia Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be Ray McNair, LSW, LSMFT. He is the social worker and director at Senior Life Unit at Neshoba County General Hospital. He will provide information about care options of persons with later stages of Alzheimer's Dementia. All caregivers and family of persons with Alzheimers and other dementias are urged to attend.
Indoor Church-Wide Rummage Sale
Salem Baptist Church will have an indoor church-wide rummage sale on Saturday, April 6 from 7 a.m. until. All proceeds go toward Youth Church Camp.

Friends of Neshoba County Library Book Sale
The friends of the Neshoba County Public Library will hold the annual used Book Sale, Monday-Friday, April 15-19. The sale will be in the Neshoba County Public Library at 230 West Beacon Street in Philadelphia. Book Sale hours are as follows: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 to 3 p.m. on Friday. Barbeque Chicken Plate Sale
On Saturday April 6, the Neshoba County Shriner's will hold their annual barbeque chicken plate sale at Vowell's Marketplace/Fred/Dirty Cheap Shopping Center. The sale will start at 11 a.m. and will go until 1:30 p.m. The cost this year is the same as it has been for the past several years only $7 and you will get an entire half of barbeque chicken, slaw, baked beans and roll. Come on out and help this great organization with its annual fundraiser and enjoy some really good eating. As always the Neshoba County Shrine Club Members thank this wonderful community for its continued support of this fundraising activity.
Sam Rush Memorial Golf Tournament
For The Children will be hosting the Sam Rush Memorial Golf Tournament at the Philadelphia Country Club on Friday April 5. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with lunch served soon after. Tee off is at 1 p.m. The format is a three man scramble. $150 per team or $50 per person. All proceeds go to benefit For the Children and our local parks. Please come out and support this great event!!
The Junior Auxiliary of Philadelphia is holding a book drive in memory of Ann Marie Graham. "Read for Ann Marie" will start on April 1 and continue through April 26. On April 29, the day after Ann Marie's birthday, the books will be distributed to our local headstart and daycares based on number of books collected. Please drop off books at the following locations: The Citizen's Bank, Cadence Bank, Regions Bank, Commercial Bank, Merchant's and Farmers Bank, and Gipson Cleaner's. Monetary donations can be turned into any Junior Auxiliary Member.
