GOSPEL SINGING

BARREL RUN

The annual 4-D NBHA Sanctioned Barrel Run will be held Saturday, March 2. It will begin with trainer barrels at 9 a.m. and then the open barrels will begin at 1 p.m. There will be $1,000 money added. This Barrel Run is open to everyone and members of the NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) can receive points for their participation.

In addition to the open barrels division there will be divisions for beginners, youth ages 18 and under, and seniors, age 50 and older. For more information you can call (601) 656-4602. This event is sponsored by the Neshoba County 4-H Horse Club.



Automotive Repair

An eight week "Basic Automotive Repair" class is being offered at the Career-Tech (formerly Vo-Tech) Center. Tentatively the class will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 9:15 p.m., beginning March 20. 2.5 CEUs will be given for this course. The cost is $75 due at registration.

A minimum number of people must register for the class to make. For more information on registering, you may contact us Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. or Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 601-656-8544.



Sewing Design Class

An eight week Sewing Design class is being offered at the Career-Tech (formerly Vo-Tech) Center. The Support Group

The Support Group for Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease (an inherited neurological disorder) will meet on Saturday, March 2 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Baptist Healthplex, 102 Clinton Parkway, Clinton. Visitors are welcome. Guest speaker will be Jeana Sweeney, CMTA's Director of Community Services from Johnstown, Penn.



FAFSA Day

Neshoba Central High School will sponsor a FAFSA Day for seniors and their parents on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 12 noon to 7 p.m.  This is a free one-on-one assistance to complete federal(federal (FAFSA) and state forms for college financial aid.  These services are being provided by ESF Get2College and College Goal Sunday. 

East Central Community College will also have staff available from their financial aid office to assist parents and students.

Neshoba Central High School Class of '73

Our class reunion is coming up May 4. Organizers need a head count for the caterers. Please send in your money and profile sheets before March 15. If you are unable to attend, we would still like to have your profile sheet. Everyone, please help us make this the best reunion yet. The next meeting will be April 1 at Ronnie's Steak and Grill at 6 p.m.



Dr. Seuss Day

In celebration of Read Across America Day and the 109th birthday of Dr. Seuss, the Neshoba County Library will celebrate with a party on Friday, March 1 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kids of all ages are invited to come for storytime, crafts, snacks and more! For more information call 601-656-4911.



Junior Auxillary

Junior Auxiliary will be hosting annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday March 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Northside Park. We are asking for a $2 donation per child. All proceeds will be going to the Philadelphia Boys and Girls Club. Bring cameras Easter Bunny will make special appearance.



TRAINING

A Private Applicator Certification class will be taught on Tuesday, March 12, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Neshoba County Coliseum multi-purpose room. Individuals wishing to obtain private applicator certification may call the Extension Service office at 656-4602 to pre-register for this training. A $10 registration fee will be charged for the class.

Individuals who require special accommodations to participate should contact the Extension office to make their request known prior to the program. Contact should be made timely to ensure appropriate accommodation.



Great Banquet

You are invited to the Great Banquet. There will be a Great Fellowship Banquet held in honor of Sister Ruthie L. Norton and Pastor E. L. Logan at Mt. Pleasant #2 M.B. Registration for Preschool

First United Methodist Church Weekday Children's Ministry will hold registration in March for toddler and Preschool classes. So stop on by and fill out an application. Registration fee is $50.00. If you have any questions, please call 601-656-1417.



NARFE Meeting

St. Paul M.B. Church

You're invited to an evening of fun with a Pageant, meal, Fashion Show and Gala. All of this will take place March 2 at 6 p.m. at the Westside Community Center. Admission is $5. 4-H FASHION REVUE

Neshoba County youth ages 5-18 can register now to compete in the annual spring 4-H Fashion Revue. It will be held Sunday afternoon, March 3 at 2 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center at the Northside Park in Philadelphia. Pre-registration deadline is Thursday, Feb.­ 28. Please come by the County 4-H Office located in the Neshoba County Coliseum to pick up your application.

Cash awards will be awarded to winners in Clothing Construction and Clothing Selection categories. Classes will include a Clover Bud division for ages 5-7. Clothing Construction classes will be broken down into four skill levels and Clothing Selection classes will be broken down into juniors ages 8-13 and seniors ages 14-18.
