Bingo Night

Calling all senior citizens ages 60 and up.

Come join us every Tuesday at 5 p.m. for a fun night of bingo and a chance to win great prizes.

This event will be held at the Senior Citizens building located at Northside Park.

There will be a $2 entry fee and refreshments will be served. So come out and have some bingo fun.

4-H SHOOTING SPORTS REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

The reorganizational meeting of the Neshoba County 4-H Shooting Sports program will be Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Neshoba County Coliseum.

Any young person in Neshoba County between the ages of 8-18 may attend this meeting with their parent or guardian and find out what is required to be a part of this program.

Instructors in the disciplines of archery, rifle, pistol and shotgun will be prepared to share safety considerations, techniques of the disciplines and projected practice times.

LINWOOD FUNDRAISER

Chitterling and/or Boston butt plates will be sold from 11 a.m. until on Feb. 16 at Linwood Volunteer Fire Department as part of its annual fundraiser. Chitterling plates will be $10 and Boston Butt sandwiches, $7.



Antioch Baptist Church

Annual Bow Shoot/Wild Game Supper at Antioch Baptist Church in House is set for Saturday, Feb. 16. Bow shoot will be at 11 a.m. Supper will be at 6 p.m. "Coyote Calling Seminar" will be at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Trophies will be given in 3 divisions. Friends of the Library Group Forming

The Neshoba County Public Library will be hosting an organizational meeting for a Friends of the Library Group, Thursday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. at the library. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Every day across America, Friends are making a difference for the libraries they serve.



4-D NBHA SANCTIONED BARREL RUN

The annual 4-D NBHA Sanctioned Barrel Run will be held Saturday, March 2. It will begin with trainer barrels at 9 a.m. and then the open barrels will begin at 1 p.m. There will be $1,000 money added. This Barrel Run is open to everyone and members of the NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) can receive points for their participation.

In addition to the open barrels division there will be divisions for beginners, youth ages 18 and under, and seniors, age 50 and older. For more information you can call (601) 656-4602. This event is sponsored by the Neshoba County 4-H Horse Club.



BASEBALL/SOFTBALL REGISTRATION

The Philadelphia, Neshoba County Park Commission has begun its baseball/softball spring program for Boys ages 4-13 and Girls ages 4-16 this includes Tee Ball and Instructional Leagues. Registration will end Feb. 23.

Prices are: ages 4-5, $40, and ages 6 and over, $65. Baseball is for Boys ages 4-13 on May 1, 2013. Softball is for Girls ages 4-16 on Jan. 1, 2013. There will be a $10 late fee for registration after Feb. 23.

Registration will be at city hall from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or at Northside Park Senior Citizens Building from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 16 and 23.

REGISTRATION

The Philadelphia Neshoba County Park Commission has begun its spring soccer program for Boys & Girls 4-14.

Entry fee is $40. Uniform is not included. Soccer is for Boys & Girls ages 4-14 on August 31, 2012. There will be a $10 late fee for registration after Feb. 23.

Registration will be at city hall from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or at Northside Park Senior Citizens building from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 16 and 23.

Age groups for teams will be same as fall season.

An eight week "Basic Automotive Repair" class if being offered at the Career-Tech (formerly Vo-Tech) Center. Tentatively the class will meet no Wednesdays from 6 to 9:15 p.m., beginning March 20. 2.5 CEUs will be given for this course. The cost is $75 due at registration. A minimum number of people must register for the class to make. The Support Group

The Support Group for Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease (an inherited neurological disorder) will meet on Saturday, March 2 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Baptist Healthplex, 102 Clinton Parkway, Clinton. Visitors are welcome. Guest speaker will be Jeana Sweeney, CMTA's Director of Community Services from Johnstown, Penn.

 FAFSA Day at Neshoba Central High School

Neshoba Central High School will sponsor a FAFSA Day for seniors and their parents on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 12 noon to 7 p.m.  This is a free one-on-one assistance to complete federal(FAFSA) and state forms for college financial aid.  These services are being provided by ESF Get2College and College Goal Sunday. 

East Central Community College will also have staff available from their financial aid office to assist parents and students.
