The Philadelphia Police Department and the Community Policing Neighborhood Associa-tion are asking for your assistance in donations for school supplies for the children of Philadelphia Elementary School. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone/everyone who wants or desires an opportunity to praise and pray to the Lord (shift-workers, etc., and person available during that time) are invited to a mid-week/mid-day prayer meeting every Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 at Yates Drug Store (banquet room) on the square downtown Philadelphia. North Calvary Homecoming
The annual homecoming service at North Calvary Baptist Church, 922 North Pecan Ave., will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14. The guest speaker for this occasion will be Dr. James Bryant, a former pastor. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Karen Cumberland.
A fellowship lunch will be enjoyed following the service. Current and former members are urged to attend this special time of worship and fellowship. The public is invited.

SUPPORT FOR FALL FUN DAY NEEDED
This is the seventh year for the Fall Fun Day for special needs youth of Neshoba County. It will be held Thursday, Oct. 25 in the Neshoba County Coliseum.
Assistance from church groups, civic clubs, families and others is requested to conduct various activity booths for the children that morning from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Sponsorships for this event are also requested. This project is sponsored by the Neshoba County, Philadelphia and Choctaw Disability Children's Foundation.

CPC Fall Fundraiser
The Center for Pregnancy Choices is selling ribs and Boston butts as a fundraiser. The prices are $20 for a slab of ribs and $25 for a Boston butt. Tickets may be purchased from any board member or you may call the CPC at 656-9712 to place an order. The meat may be picked up at the CPC on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 2-6 p.m. It's being cooked by the Piggly Wiggly in Collinsville. Would make a great tailgater for the State or Ole Miss game that weekend.

Benefit Ride for James Hulbert Fortenberry
There will be a Trail Ride for James Hulbert Fortenberry on Oct. 20 in Rosebud. There will be horse and wagon trails. It will be $10 per person.

New County Line Baptist Church
New County Line Baptist Church will have homecoming services on Sunday, Oct. 14 beginning at 10 a.m. Brother David Winstead will bring the message. Angela Adams and family will be guest singers. Pastor Geneva Blunt and the Shield of Faith Ministries are having a fall revival Oct. 22-26. Service will begin at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be pastor Chris Sprivey of Greenleaf M.B. Church in Ludlow.
25 Year Reunion for NCHS
The NCHS class of 1987 will celebrate their 25 -ear class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 27 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Northside Park Senior Citizen's Center. The cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple if paid before Oct. 13.

Bailey Family Reunion
All descendants of the Reverend Edward Bailey and family friends are invited to the 132nd annual Bailey family reunion.
The reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning at 11 a.m. at Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located two miles west of Sebastopol on Highway 487. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy a day of family remembrance and renewal.
Descendents of William John Dowdle and Catherine Pace Dowdle will meet Saturday, Oct. 13 at Lucern Clubhouse, Union. All family members and friends are invited to attend. Come early and bring a dish of food for a noon luncheon.
A business meeting will follow the noon meal.
PRIVATE APPLICATOR TRAINING
A Private Applicator Certification class will be taught on Tuesday, October 16, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose room of the Neshoba County Coliseum.
Individuals wishing to obtain private applicator certification may call the Extension Service office at 656-4602 to pre-register for this training. A $10.00 registration fee will be charged for the class.
Individuals who require special accommodations to participate should contact the Extension office to make their request known prior to the program. Contact should be made timely to ensure appropriate accommodation.
Homecoming at Sandtown
Sandtown United Methodist Church will be celebrating homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 14. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. James E. Swanson Sr. as guest speaker. "Dinner on the Ground" will follow the service in the family life center.

NCHS CAREER NIGHT
Neshoba Central High School will hold its annual "Financial Aid/College/Career Night" for students and their parents Thursday, Oct. 25 at Neshoba Central Elementary School Auditorium. There will be an ESF Financial Aid Workshop at 5 p.m. with College and Career Night following at 6 p.m. Juniors and Seniors along with their parents are encouraged to attend.
ECCC 'First Steps' Workshop
"First Steps - the Process of Starting a Small Business" is the topic of a workshop scheduled Tuesday Oct. 23 sponsored by East Central Community College's Small Business Development Center.
Ronald B. Westbrook, SBDC director, will be the speaker at the free information session scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Neshoba Business Enterprise Center located in the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Industrial Park.

SWCD tree orders
The Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation District will be taking tree orders through the end of October. You can come by the office to place your order from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday or call us at 601-656-8783 Ext. 3 and we will fax or mail you an order form.
The office is located at 511 East Lawn Drive in the USDA Building. We are asking that you pay for the trees when placing your order. The trees are bare root trees and will arrive in February 2013. By ordering bulk wholesale we can pass the savings on to you. Proceeds from tree sales will help support educational programs throughout the year.
You can drop by the office and pick up a list of trees that we will be selling this year or if there is a particular tree that you are wanting that is not on the list, we can try to order it. If you have any questions, call 601-656-8783 Ext3.
Church of Hope Homecoming
The Church of Hope invites everyone to their Homecoming services Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. Rev. Gary Houston of Meridian will be the guest speaker. Revival services will be Oct. 21-23 at 7 p.m. Elder Stan Jones of Jerusalem Temple will be the guest speaker.
Library Book Sale
The Neshoba County Library is having an on-going book sale beginning Monday, Oct. 8. Items for sale include fiction, non-fiction, magazines and children's books. Proceeds will go toward updating library collection.

15th Annual Basket Day
Come and join us for our annual Basket Day Festival at Bryan's Country Store in Freeny. Choctaw weavers will be making baskets, splitting river cane and cooking the traditional foods like hominy and fry bread.
There are hundreds of baskets for sale in the store and some for direct purchase from the weavers. The Choctaw story teller will spin his wonderful tales around 11 a.m. Each year we have an antique basket show and some of the baskets are from as far back as Civil Wars days.
