Buzz Cut & Bake Sale
Knots on the square will be hosting a buzz cut and bake sale May 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit the John Robert Irby family. Buzz cuts will be given for a donation and baked goods will be set up on the side walk. Church Anniversary & Homecoming Celebration
You are invited to attend Arlington Baptist Church on Sunday, May 18 as we celebrate our 75th anniversary and homecoming. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck lunch following the service. If you have old photographs or other church memorabilia, please bring it with you so we can all enjoy them together.
On May 4 The Chunn family had their 27th annual Chunn reunion at Union Park in Union with about 70 in attendance. Herman Chunn welcomed the family and gave updates on business matters. Arron Chunn brought the devotion. Thurman Chunn, Trey Willis and Ricky Boler fried fish. A multitude of other family members brought covered dishes. The reunion is held every year on the first Sunday in May, next year it will be on May 3, 2015 we hope to see everyone back together again.
Louisville needs more volunteers
Samaritan's Purse is requesting more volunteers to assist with sawing downed trees and limbs and moving them for county cleanup efforts.
Volunteers should check in at the Samaritan's Purse tent at the Louisville Coliseum at 201 Ivy Ave. or go online to http://www.samaritanspurse.org/.
All volunteers are encouraged to check in at the coliseum, which will enable local officials to document volunteer work hours for essential compensation to the city and county from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Make safety a top priority by wearing protective clothing such as long pants, hard sole shoes, gloves, hats and safety goggles when appropriate. Drink plenty of water and take breaks to prevent accidents cause by exhaustion.

Thomas Family Reunion
The descendants of William Washington and Lena Catherina Phillips Thomas, whose children are James Allen Thomas, William Melton Thomas, Albert Miles Thomas, John Marion Thomas, Mary Susan Thomas Brantley and Dock Kelly Thomas, will hold the Annual Thomas Family Reunion at the home place of William and Alpha Thomas at Madden on Saturday, June 7 at 11:30 a.m. We hope each of you will plan to come and bring a dish and your lawn chair. If you have any old pictures or other family information that you can share, this will be a great contribution in the preparation of a Thomas Family Book. Women's Day Program

Winston County Tornado Victims Funds Raiser
Prior to the Winston County Tornado, the Youth Group from McClain Chapel Pentecostal Church had scheduled a 5K run and walk to raise funds for their activities. This group of young people has elected to donate funding raised from the registration fees for their Heart & Sole 5K run and walk to tornado victims in Winston County. The race will be held on 31 May 2014 and will start and finish at their Church. Sponsors and runners are needed to make this a successful event. Individuals and teams are invited to participate. NORTH BEND UMC 2014 HOMECOMING
North Bend United Methodist Church invites the public to join them in their 2014 Homecoming Worship Celebration this Sunday, May 18 at 11 a.m. North Bend United Methodist Church is directly off of Highway 21. Rev. Pam Randall, pastor of the Sageville and Wesley United Methodist Churches in Lauderdale County, will be our guest evangelist. Many will remember Rev. Pam from when she served North Bend UMC with her husband, Rev. Alan, North Bend's Pastor from 1996-2000. Rev. Pam answered the call to ministry for herself in 2002, entering in 2004 and is now commissioned as an Associate Member of the United Methodist Church.

LIBRARY SUMMER READING
Registration for the Neshoba County Public Library's "Fizz Boom Read" summer reading program will be Monday-Friday, June 2-6 with programs starting the following week. Neshoba Class of '94 Reunion

The Neshoba County Public Library is seeking donations for its upcoming summer reading program. Needed items include gently used stuffed animals and toys which will be used as prizes during the program. Donations may be dropped off at the library during regular operating hours. God's Closet, a mission of First United Methodist Church, is encouraging families with students ages 4-years up to 18-years-old to register for school clothing and supplies that are free or charge. The mission is located in the Valley View Shopping Center and serves customers on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. To register you must present a birth certificate for each child and show two proofs of residency in Neshoba County. Donations of gently worn school clothing and uniforms many be dropped off at God's Closet on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
NESHOBA COUNTY Youth Football and Cheer
Neshoba County Youth Football and Cheer is offering early bird registration beginning Feb. 28 and ending July 12. Cheer registration will be $85 as opposed to $100; includes a complete uniform. Five and 6 year old tackle is $40 as opposed to $50. Seven to 12 year old tackle is $50 as opposed to $65. After the July 12 deadline all Early Bird prices will be void and registrants will be required to pay the regular in season fee. A copy of a live birth certificate is also required of each registrant. Neshoba County Youth provides game jersey and game pants for all football season which is to be returned at the end of the season. A lunch is also provided on in season away games for every child that is a part of cheer and tackle. There is an End of Year Banquet where awards for each child are provided during the banquet. Registration for Neshoba Pre-K
Registration for the pre-kindergarten program at Neshoba Central has been set for May. The Pre-Kindergarten Program is located at the Neshoba County Parent Resource Center building at Valley View.
Students are screened for enrollment by a pre-kindergarten test. The classes will begin and end to coincide with the regular school term at Neshoba County Schools. Participating students' parents will be require to provide transportation to and from the center. Anyone having a 4-year-old child and wishing for the child to be tested for the pre-K program must come to the Parent Resource Center to register the child between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 5-9.
It is not necessary for your child to be present on the day of registration. If all registration materials are presented, an appointment will be assigned for your child to be screened for placement. To register a child for the pre-k screening, parents must provide: two proofs of residence in Neshoba County School District, the child's certified birth certificate, the child's Social Security card, the child's state certificate of immunization compliance and CDIB if applicable. We are about to start a choir that will include the entire community for our young people. We have lots of talent in our youth that needs to be brought to life.
