A recent Thursday was a work day for the Nimble Thimbles.

After arriving the quilters learned of a terrible weather condition that damaged the home of Eunice Posey.

Praises went up for Eunice and family.

The Quilts of Love were turned in and some of the red and green Christmas blocks.

Prayer request for Joan Massey, Steve Fowler, Adalean McMillan and Eunice Posey family were added to our list.

Lois ford was congratulated on having a quilt in the Hattiesburg quilt show and got an honorable mention on it.

That is wonderful accomplishment.

A class on the Scrappy Star was taught by Mary Ruth Thomas and Ginger Phillipson.

There were 16 quilters in attendance with 14 of them taking the class.

Machines irons and cutting boards were quickly put into place and a day of sewing began.

I would try and explain how to do this one but I really think it would be just better to let you see it done.

There isn't a pattern but simply cutting to size makes it a square after only two seams, then all needed is the sewing together of the squares.

Everyone brought their lunch and a crock pot of hominy was shared by all.

We will be doing more of this next year.

Plans now are made for November and our Christmas program in December.

Come and join in with us at our world of quilting next meeting Nov. 1 at New Pleasantdale Baptist Church, Williamsville.
