New attorney Brittany White got start clerking at Branning firm

New attorney Brittany White has joined the Jenifer Branning law firm after taking her oath in the Neshoba County courthouse. From left are Chancery Court Judge Joey Kilgore, White, Branning, Meagan Pope and Jennifer Gilbert.
Clerking at a Philadelphia law firm while in college led Brittany White to ultimately become an attorney herself.
The recent graduate of the University of Mississippi was sworn in last month by Chancery Court Judge Joey Kilgore.
She is now an associate attorney at the law office of Jenifer Branning.
White, the daughter of Dale and Dianne White, has been working for Branning since her sophomore year at East Central Community College in 2008.
"I worked my summer breaks as a law clerk, answering the phone and running errands," she said, noting that she worked weekends as well.
White excelled in academics, being named valedictorian of the 2006 Union High School graduating class.
She has also received a number of degrees including an associate of arts from East Central, a bachelor's of science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a doctorate of law from Ole Miss.
White admitted, with a laugh, that law wasn't what she wanted to study when she first started at the Branning firm.
"I didn't consider that until my junior year at Southern," she said.
After USM, White attended the University of Mississippi where she received her doctorate in law degree.
Throughout her school years, she continued to work for Branning and after gaining her law degree there was only one place she wanted to work.
"I'm excited," White said. "It's a great opportunity to work with Jennifer [Branning]."
While she doesn't specialize in any one type of law, White is handling a number of business and real estate cases.
"I've been blessed with an extreme amount of work," she said. "It's never dull and always a challenge."
Jenifer Branning is also happy to have White on board.
"I encouraged her to expand her options and knew she would be an asset here," she said. "She has a bright mind for law."
The law office is located on Center Avenue.
White is also engaged to be married in January to Keith Brown of Forest.
