The Mississippi Forestry Association recently convened its annual conference in Jackson.

The Neshoba County Forestry Association is the county affiliate of the state-wide organization and serves as the voice of forestry at the county level.

The County Forestry Association Board of Directors is made up of volunteer stakeholders in the expanding forestry industry in Neshoba County.

Attending the 2013 Mississippi Forestry Association annual conference were the following Board of Directors members: Harvin Hudson, Harold Anderson, Brad Joiner, Joe Spinks, Chad Grantham, Debbie Webb, Stan Webb, Willie Jackson, O.D. Jackson, Doug Bates, W.J. Bates, and Mary Lundy Meruvia.

Annually, the Mississippi Forestry Association holds an awards program during which Neshoba County was well represented with the following awards presented: Mississippi Logger of the Year: Kent Winstead Logging; Mississippi Outstanding County Forestry Association Young Leader: Brad Joiner; Outstanding Volunteer Tree Farm Inspector: Brad Joiner; Tree Farmer of the Year, East Central District: Mary Lundy Meruvia.

Interested individuals in the county forestry industry are encouraged to join the Neshoba County Forestry Association.
