Vehicles without parking permits will not be allowed inside the Fairgrounds after 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, following action by the Board of Directors of the Neshoba County Fair Association.

In addition, Fair Manager Doug Johnson said temporary passes would not be available for vehicles without parking permits to unload items in the Fairgrounds after 6 p.m. that same day.

With so many people moving into cabins and campers, Johnson expects extremely heavy traffic the day before the Fair officially starts on Friday, July 26.

"We are doing this because of the traffic congestion," he said. "This will hopefully ease the traffic inside the Fairgrounds. Security will be on hand on that Thursday."

The Fair Association has adopted the following rules and procedures to address traffic:

• Fair Security will be on duty at gates one and two on Thursday, July 25 beginning at 6 p.m.

• A properly attached parking permit will be required for every vehicle which enters gates one and two after 6 p.m. on July 25.

• Gates three and four will not be open until 7 a.m. on Friday, July 26.

• Unauthorized vehicles without a valid parking permit will be towed beginning Friday, July 26 at 7 a.m.

• Camper parking permits may be picked up until 10 p.m. on July 25 at the camper permit building above gate two.

In addition, cabin owners can pay utilities at gate 2 on July 13-14; July 20-21 from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Thursday, July 25, cabins 1-299A, 400-407 and 600-633 can pay utilities at the gate two ticket office from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Also on that date, utilities for cabins 300-356, 501-533 and 700-960 can be paid at the gate one ticket office those same hours.

"We would appreciate if all will follow these rules," said Johnson.
